Many of us have this question. Who am I? Where do I belong? What is my purpose? I know I have asked myself this question throughout my life. Through a lifetime of events I finally landed on something that truly has changed my life for the better and God put it on my heart to share what I have learned.
Simply put, I am and you are a child of God.
"Yeah okay, we've heard that before but what does that mean?" It means You belong to God. "But how do I belong to God?" Jesus tells us in John 14:6 "I am the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." What does that mean and how do I go through Jesus to get to God? In Romans 10:9-10 Paul tells us "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:13 "For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
Through speaking that you believe in Jesus, that he is Lord, the you believe he died for you, he took the burden of sin for you; you now belong to God. Welcome brother or sister!
Well what does that mean for me? It means more than you realize. First and I think the biggest take away for me was that I need to speak it. God spoke to the Earth in Genesis. Jesus spoke. Moses spoke. Which means our words carry meaning and power. So after you speak those words, you are now a child of God through Jesus and with comes all of these amazing benefits. It does not mean life will be a leisurely walk in the park without problems. However, it means you are entitled to what God gave us through Jesus. Jesus died for us and through his dying he broke the bond of sin that bound us to the world. After the In Him Realties were shared with me I felt like it was now my mission to share them with you. This is where The In Him Collective was born.
We have seasons of our lives where life is easy, job is going well, money is good, kids are behaving, relationships are wonderful, life is good. It is easy to thank God and praise him and it's easy to remember we belong to God in the easy seasons. It is easy to believe that Jesus loves you and you're favored and blessed. Then come the seasons where you feel so confused, broken down and defeated in every aspect of your life you don't know which way is up because everything seems so dark. Use these scriptures as a reference. A lighthouse to be a beacon of light drawing you back to who you are and remind you that God loves you. He is with you. I am here to share what belongs to us, and who God says we are because we accepted Jesus as our Lord and savior. Every week I will add a new blog with a new list of scriptures for you to explore.
This week I will leave you with the first set of scriptures, I encourage you to find them in your Bible (physical or Bible app or both!) and highlight them. I encourage you to write them down. Write them on your bathroom mirror, or on a post it and stick them around your house or car.
